Autumn by
the water.
When the leaves turn, a familiar stretch of water becomes a study in warm colour and quiet reflections.

Leave room for stillness
Along a wooded lakeshore, it is tempting to fill every corner with colour. A little open water gives the frame somewhere to rest. In this study, the pale sky and the reflection balance the denser leaves at the edges.
For a similar scene, keep the horizon level and look along the bank before choosing a position. A branch at the edge can frame the view, but a small step sideways is often enough to remove a distracting overlap.
Work with the available light
Autumn light can change quickly. Soft cloud holds detail in the leaves; a brief patch of sun makes the same trees feel warmer. Rather than chasing every change, choose a simple arrangement and watch how the light moves through it.
